Not a Runner? Yet

I wasn’t always a runner either. I found running after losing seventy pounds walking. I had undergone major brain surgery to end my epilepsy in February 2013 and discovered during recovery that I needed to get the rest of me healthy. Once walking was no longer challenging, I started off with a half mile and slowly progressed to three miles over the course of a month. I entered a four mile Turkey Trot and then a 5k for Epilepsy. I started running in September of 2013 at age 46. I believe running is a sport everyone can enjoy. No distance is too long or too short to be a runner. No speed to slow or too fast. It’s very personal to everyone. Any effort to move forward faster than walking is running. I encourage all those who have a fitness goal of any kind to try running. Come and join me for a run/walk at CB Smith Park (900 N Flamingo Road, Pembroke Pines Florida on the first and third Saturday of the month at 8:30am Pavilion 20.
